Does anyone know how to make Mississippi mud pie? I would love a recipe (the one with marshmallows)
Here are 3 of mine. I think the words pie and cake are used interchangeably, where these recipes are affected. Enjoy! MISSISSIPPI MUD CAKE # 1 When the children were still at home this was one of their favorites. 2 sticks butter pinch of salt 1 / 2 c. cocoa 1 1 / 2 c. nuts, chopped 2 C. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 4 eggs, lightly beaten miniature marshmallows chocolate frosting, your choice Melt butter and cocoa together. Remove from heat and stir in sugar & eggs, mix well established. Add flour, salt, chopped nuts and vanilla extract, mix well. Spoon batter into a greased 9x13x2 "pan & bake at 350 degrees F. for 35 to 45 minutes. Sprinkle marshmallows on top of warm cake, cover with your favorite chocolate frosting. MISSISSIPPI MUD CAKE # 2 1 c. butter 1 / 3 c. cocoa 1 c. nuts, chopped 4 eggs 2 c. sugar 1 1 / 2 c. flour glaze: 7 ounce Marshmallow cream 1 / 4 c. butter, melted 1 / 2 c. cocoa 1 pound powdered sugar 1 / 2 C. condensed milk 1 tsp. vanilla Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Melt butter. Stir in cocoa, nuts, eggs, sugar, flour & Baking soda. Bake for 30 minutes in 13×9 "pan. While still hot spread on marshmallow cream, butter, melted cocoa, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla. Ice dries quickly very fast! MISSISSIPPI MUD PIE 1 3 / 4 c. flour 1 stick butter 3 / 4 c. chopped pecans 1 C. powdered sugar 8 ounce cream cheese 12 ounce Cool Whip 1 sm. chocolate instant pudding 1 vanilla instant pudding 3 c. milk chocolate candy bar, shaved Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 1: e Layer: Combine melted butter, flour and pecans. Spread in 9 x 13 baking dish & bake until brown. Let cool. 2. layers: Combine soft cream cheese, powdered sugar & 1 / 2 of Cool Whip. Spread over flour mixture and let chill. 3. Layers: Combine 2 instant puddings with 3 cups of milk. Pour over 2nd layer. 4. Layer: Top with remaining Cool Whip. Garnish with shavings of chocolate candy bar.
